【Money does not create money, warm heart and clever brain creates money】This is the golden phrase that I learnt from my experience of running a business in Japan, USA, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
Especially bankers (this includes all business people involved in financial industry) tend to think that money creates money. It's probability from their business nature and I do not deny that there are times that this mindset works in a short term of period. Such as investing in stocks, playing around with FX or sometimes just by announcing a crazy new business ideas and get lucky enough to sell their business to investors before the business goes down (this is mostly seen in Silicon Valley IT industry) But when you think or plan your business in a long term, this 【money creates money mindset】 is most likely to fail.
The data shows that Japan has the biggest number of 【 100 year company】. One of the reason is because Japan has the longest history as a country of over 2700 years. When you see that second longest living country is Norway and over 1000 years and USA only has over 300 years history, you will have a better understanding of how long Japan's history is.

Yeah, totally agreed.
